Mysterious, awe-inspiring, beautiful, enormous—and after 130 years of studies and excavations, no one knows who built this huge complex of stunning pyramids, their history, language, origin, or why they left. Aztecs, seeing the Pyramid of the Sun, Pyramid of the Moon and other monumental structures, named it, “the city where men became gods,” assuming only gods could have built it. Climb to the tops and have a look around. See other pyramids covered with earth, not yet discovered. Only 15 percent of this massive site has been excavated. About two and a half hours from Cuernavaca, it is on the other side of Mexico City. Worth every minute.
